I'm here on a Japanese laptop, trying to work my way around all the Japanese on the screen, by remembering what buttons are on Windows. So far, this experience has parallelled a birthday.
The build up is fairly exciting...every time you think about it, you smile to yourself.
But once that thing you've been waiting for finally comes, you feel near to nothing.
The thing is, I can't put my finger on why this has happened with Japan! The country I've dreamt of visiting since I got into design in 2003.
My theories so far, is that it somehow resembles Singapore in many ways and because I haven't been to glam-city Tokyo.

Nevertheless, I've been picking up my Japanese, spending more than normal amounts of time in stationery shops and filling up on Japanese food.
Scrolling through my photos so far, I've realised again that I haven't got much proof of my being here...so gotta bump that one up a notch.
Don't want to regret it like in Israel.

Our architecture work so far has been a lot of mapping walks and some lectures. Thankfully I made it to like-minded group (wonderful bunch) and the shot below is taken by a (very friendly and polite) primary school girl who wanted a shot of us sitting on their special bench.
