A good tiring break away

You don't miss your water till your well runs dry, as they say.
So our broadband at home has been down for 3 weeks, and I'm really lagging on Facebook updates.
What's been going on with jem, I hear you think...

Well! A lot of it has to do with work.
Thankfully I'm on a different project now which has so much variety and I'm finding the days go that little bit quicker.
But I am missing the Green bay's atmosphere and people.
Just last week, I was taken on my first away meeting over 2 days.
Tuesday was spent getting to Newport in Wales to visit an amazing site and sit in a 3 hr afternoon meeting with the tutors of the college we're developing.
Then straight on the train to Bristol, where we spent the night.
Dinner was at a great tapas restaurant with live soft funky jazz and king prawns and oh just such a lovesome place tucked away on the corner of a street.
I didn't realise Bristol was so built up, with sea-side night life, almost like Clark Quay.
The next day I had to keep awake in a 6 hr meeting in a v dull meeting room, well done me.
Where we jumped straight on the train to head back home.
Besides the mass of information I had to absorb about this project in 2 days, I learnt where the sun had gone. It's been in Bristol & Wales and my red coat was only used again the moment I got back to rainy Basingstoke.

I know I talk a lot about the weather, and before I moved here, I wondered why the sun was such a big deal to the English.
Now that I know why, do bear with all my moaning about the English sun.

This bank holiday weekend was thankfully full of it, as I was away camping near Dover.
I've got pics but again, haven't uploaded them yet.
It was tiring trying to keep warm every night, and spending afternoons at the beach, but it was a really necessary break away from work.
Though I am pleased to be back home, in comfort & civilisation.
