Last day at homeyesterday was my last day at home, and it was slightly sad to me.
I successfully held my tears back at the train station as my parents sent me off, with a piece of banana cake and my 2 pears.
They drove me all the way to Reading station, as not to risk me missing my bus ride from Basingstoke. (maintenance works have caused extended journeys everywhere)
And because pa drove so quickly, I reached Reading feeling car sick while trying to remember the route we took. (as I might have to drive myself here in the near future)
I was told never again to book a train journey so late at night, and I now know why.
This is not Singapore.
The first part of my journey was smooth, I listened to sermons while the carriage slowly emptied.
A group of roudy 'men' then boarded, and I tried to keep a low profile.
One of the men was a gentleman at heart, and told his friend to stop trying to chat me up.
He also managed to get another man who was 'high' to get off the train, after he lit up a 'naughty' cigarette.
I was praying in my head while all this happened, and out of no where, 2 girls sitting nearby asked me to come sit with them at their table. (yes, English trains have tables)
I scurried to get my things, while thanking God for getting me out of that situation!
But that's not all.
I got talking with the girls straight away, and it led to the issue of addictions, as one of the girls asked me for some cigarette paper to roll her tobacco.
After conveying I didn't think I was addicted to anything, she asked me "bray?"
I looked at her curiously, and asked her what she meant.
She was asking if I prayed! And I told them, yes! because I'm a christian.
and the rest of the conversation I spent sharing the gospel and my faith.
eventually, found out they were housemates of a churchmate of mine!
This all lasted the last 20min of my journey, and I was only wishing I'd sat with them earlier!
my darlin' Jules and Rob, to my relief, met me immediately as I alighted the carriage.
I said goodbye to the girls and hugged Jules and Rob gladly, who lovingly took me straight home.
If that wasn't God, then what?
