Lowkey Sunday

it was strange yet familiar coming back to church in Plymouth.
last night i was on a roll from unpacking
and started sticking my walls with all sorts of paper.
ended asleeping within the hour before 2am
to wake up early for church!
seeing i beat the alarm by an hour, i dozed back.
only to wake up again to the good oldie "How Do You Like Your Eggs In The Morning"

excited about having bought wheetabix last night, i realised i forgot to buy honey!
so dipped into some lemon cheesecake flavour yoghurt and some rye bread with houmous.
on the way to church, crossed paths with the crew that were bringing freshers church surfing.
i waved to rob and received my first hug from a fellow plymouthean.
arriving at the church door, i was hugged by even more!
all these people telling me how much they've missed the students, inc me i guess?
the sermon was challenging, like it usually is; which is good meat.
and after that, catching as many people as poss to quickchat with.

i found myself among the last few left, so conjured a plan with rob.
he nicely forced me back to his new home for lunch, of tuna mayonaise sandwiches.
pretty yum!
meeting so many new people in one day is just a sample of the life Jesus led.
but i'm sure He's got better memory than me.

pretty worn from all the uphill walking, i decided to walk even more.
visited the good ol' chinese minimart, stocking up on my sesame oil, oyster sauce and chilli sauce.
the last being the real bonus! it was buy 1 get 1 free on Singapore Chilli sauce, the chicken rice kind, at 60p (S$1.80) for 2 jars.

then to Tescos to get some fresh food and flavours.
i must have carried home 8kgs, only occured to me at the counter how much i'd bought!

back home, i'm truly tired and in no mood for any manual labour.
after a brief chat to the rents, i jump into a hot powerful shower.
that usually helps.
i get cooking a tasty dinner of chinese veg with onions and kippers (plus my new chilli sauce, which was so hot i didnt even use a spoonful)

after watching 2 episodes of Shooting Stars, this is the most homesick i've felt in a long time.
but don't worry i'm good.
some green tea will do the trick, remind me how blessed i am.
maybe stare into the Plymouth town silhouette, nibbling on dark chocolate.

right now, i'm in a cosy mood and wish my room was cloaked with Jersey Cotton beanbags...
or a better alternative, someone who can cuddle me comfortably from behind.
i miss that feeling.
