20 years 4 days old

God.
things always seem to boil down to Him in the end.
my birthday wasn't about me.
it was all about God, and what He'd done in my life.
blessed with amazing parents, who've brought me up awesomely.
i've got absolutely nothing to complain about.
i lack nothing.

that lesson took me 4 days to come to terms with.
of course everyone wants to feel special and get all the attention on their birthday.
but i was looking at things from a very bad perspective.
my thoughts revolved around me, myself and i.
finally, i understood why for 3 years running, i've had very unspecial birthdays; only memorable by the fact of how rubbish they were, in the sense that my actual birth date was like any regular day of the week.

so to all that forgot/didn't bother, no offence taken.
To my parents who took me to a totally yum seafood restaurant with fresh scallops, prawns and crayfish.
For the best present yet, my new FinePix S5500 digicam.
To Donna, Peggy and Sara who cared to get me a present and cakes from Donna, feeling sick was well worth the cappucino cake.
To Jules who sincerely "felt my pain" i love you just as much as before anyway.
To Esther who treated me to a lush mocha in the cafe of my choice (even a Madeline i wanted), you being in Plymouth is more than a blessing from above.
To my housemates for singing me a birthday song despite my bday way past its due date, and making me eat ginger cake with custard and popcorn.
To Andrina for making me a bacon sarnie close to midnight.
To the people who bought/mailed cards: Parents, Andy L, Donna, Sara, Peggy, Si, Andrina, Pat and Justin (that made me giggle)
To the people who SMSed me: Andy, Gina C, Dave W, Mum, Kaka, Jules, Kiri
To the online wishes: Val, Sehgu, Shawn, Calvin, Mandy, Moses, Fred

i don't think i've left anyone out.
but if i have, it wasn't done delibrately.

Now back at uni, i'm still restoring the A0 size drawing board i inherited.
already been shoved an assignment due at the end of October.
and it's only been Monday.
It's all good, just resting in Him and His loving arms.

PS: for the ill-informed, this is what Madelines look like
