Poland and England

this will hopefully give everyone a quick snappy look of my whereabouts the past 2 weeks.

I went to Poland with very few expectations.
I knew it was gonna be an amazing time, learning/hearing from God.
little did i think it'd be in the most subtle of ways.
Bracing myself for moments of Wow, i experienced none.

but looking at the trip as a whole, i can now proclaim my Wow.
the biggest testimony i only realised days after it happened, was how God helped me get into Poland in the first place.
having the only bright ang-bao (chinese packet with money) red passport meant i couldn't join the others at the stamping procedure.
on arrival, i waited at the end of a long line of people from all other countries not part of the EU; while i blankly observed my group pass through pretty quickly.
when it was finally my turn, a stern blank-faced man greeted me with this:

Man: Why are you in Poland?
Me(having watched The Terminal): erh, *thinks: Not Business and i can't say Pleasure* Holiday. I'm with the group of English that have already gone through.
Man: *ignoring what i'd just said* Which hotel are you staying at?
Me: we're not staying in a hotel. (noting the man's suspicious look) but we're travelling to Poznan tomorrow
Man: Where are you staying in Poznan.
Me: erh, hmmm.
Thank God i had just copied 2 addresses of where we'd be staying in pencil on my useless booklet
Me: oh wait i have the address.

What seemed like a pretty calm conversation was actually what could have turned into a movie somewhat like The Terminal. I had no paperwork on me. They saw no reason in letting me into their country. They could have easily rejected my passport, but thank God those few scribbles of Polish addresses moments before i left my house was actually my passport into the country.

So many immensely good times made my trip.
The people irreplacable.
The sights strangely resembling Singapore's night life.
The mix of high and low emotions.
All in all, i got a valuable lesson drilled into me; again.
My inner self is what counts. My motives. My reasons for doing things.

I wasn't very stable spiritually before the trip and surprisingly, am still trying to find my feet in that area.
It's times like these i thank God so much for genuine friends.

Today has definitely been special in the littlest of ways.
I woke up today to an SMS from Sarah telling me she's getting married!
my special pink girl from university getting married.
Reality is, i'm as far from marriage as i'll ever be.
Speaking of boys, i don't think anyone knows me well enough to truly love me.

But don't worry! i found cute stickers today!
i searched everywhere in Singapore last year and only came back with a strip.
today i found 4 each only 50p (S$1.50)

Liking notebooks with a passion, i found 2 cheap groovy ones today as well.

Finally, my toes get prettied after 2 weeks of nakedness.

It's the simple things in life that are beautiful.
