Singapore 'Entertainment'?

as singaporean as i proclaim to be...
i cannot dahan but just have to give my view/opinion on
Singapore Idol.
yeah i know i'm not getting it's fullest wash being so far from home and all.
but still, websites are amazing things...
and so are web avis.

so from roaming all over the Singapore Idol website months ago...
completely confounded by all the similar looking chinese boys and the rare coloured people.
i've missed the whole tedious filtering system to get the last 2 for my pick.
genenocide outlined the issues surrounding respective competitors effortlessly well.
but my personal opinion?
Taufik gets my prod.
could it be my lifelong un-keeness on bengs?
could it be my well trained eye for real talent kudos to my dad?
could it be that i just think Taufik looks better than...what's his name...sylvester?
*jem quickly refers back to the singapore idol website*

yeah that's his name.
actually, that reminds me of the sylvester the cat which isn't sexeh (at all!)

unfortunately i have absolutely no power over who wins because my overseas SMSs cost 30cents each and i believe Singapore Idol makes enough money from the population of Singapore alone.
do some quick math and you'll see what i mean.
so i'll just have to wait and see.
i've got a hidden consternation that sylvester the cat might just win...
but then again, i hope he doesn't?

so in the swing of singapore entertainment.
i surf all over the mediacorp website updating my lil' self on the going ons back home.
when i bump into Jamie Yeo's name & pic, i can't help but shudder.
in fact that happens with most female singaporean 'celebs' but especially her.
having experienced Miss Yeo's hosting skills, i can give a realistic opinion here.
i don't know why they all make me cringe (which i know is rude but hey?!)
*shrugs*
maybe because they all remind me of modern-day-lians.
they are all pretty much the same.
skinny, sweet smiley, spagetti-top-loving girls.
sorry but that's how i see them and honestly i don't think those are my favourite kind of people.
you walk down orchard road and they're all the same.
everyone loves Hello-Kitty-pink.
you can spot sporadic collections of such all the way from The Heeren across the road to Taka.
(apologies to non-singaporeans who may not have the foggiest what i'm yakking about)

i find most Singaporean guys the same, which is probably why you could probably match them up dot to dot with the girls i referred to a few sentences up.
just like primary school worksheets i loved doing, making sure my lines were prestinely straight with my new 60 cent plastic pink ruler from the downstairs-school-bookshop.

that's probably why i have such radical friends.
people not afraid to be unique are my kind of people.
my favourite people.
People that make my life that little bit more thai-sweet-chilli spicey.

verdict: i cannot dahan most spore female celebrities

all that said in love...
i've decided to try and post more of my thoughts.
in place of well described experiences, and 'how great my day was' posts.
have to learn to address issues more critically.
being in uni now and all.
no more miss i-love-the-whole-world.

i'm now gonna use a phrase that...
could only sound cool coming from a black guy.
"Peace out yall!"

*jem bites lips and cringes*
