everyone always asks you to 'take care of yourself'
it's at the end of a small-talk conversation.
the end of a long lost friend email.
the cherry on top of a mobile phone conversation while you're madly dashing through town.
so when you actually 'take care' you'd expect some good to come out of it.

ironically, all my efforts have been feckless.
but i'm afraid i'm going to have to blame all my housemates and my 2 partners in class.
who cough unceasingly within a 1m radius of me without thinking twice about flying germies.
well there you go.
it was inevitable really, if you think about it.

on the same convivial note, i got pulled over by an elderly couple yesterday on my way home from my architecture school.

man: excuse me, do you know where is [insert italian sounding restaurant]

jem: sorry where?

man: madarnols!?

(woman following closely behind shoves map infront of me)

woman: we're here and we're trying to get there!

jem: oh ok i know where we are *nods confidently*

(jem gestures direction to take)

jem: alright town is that way, well, just follow me cus i'm going that way too.

{start small-talk conversation of both our originalities and what the 3 of us are doing down here in plymouth)

couple: USA
jem: Singapore

couple: holidaying
jem: studying

couple: looking for food
jem: going home for food

jem: so what is this place you're looking for again?

woman: MacDonalds

(jem rolls eyes)

jem: OHhhhhh! MACDONALDS!!!

now, as i headed back to my residence in search of...
i couldn't help but just be amazed that i couldn't even understand an American saying "Macdonalds"

ironic or what?

PS they were such a cute couple. bless em'
