________________________________________________________________

more than a week of events definitely means this is gonna be a long post.
so people, brace yourselves.
if you haven't got time to spare, run while you can.

as much as i'd like to go into every detail, feelings, emotions, yada yada.
i shall spare everyone and try to make this as brief as i possibly can.

first important thing was last friday.
i knew i was heading out to hit a club at night, it would probably be a sin not to go with free tickets given.
but before that, a quiet dinner with family was what i had in mind.
little did i know a whole truckload of people were coming over,
and there i was in my comfy clothes, plonked infront of the tele catching friends.
they know i don't like people showing up with me looking my worst so my parents decided to fill me in on their cheeky plan.
i personally thought it was mighty sweet of them, since i didn't ask for anything or hint anything at all.
so within half an hour, i was dolled up and welcomed the early birds.
the chinese buffet style dinner went well with smiles all round.
a few embaressing old-family-videos were a must.
and how sweet of people to bring me presents!
i have to confess here that i usually don't like majority of my gifts at any occasion, be it birthdays, christmas, etc.
so opening one gift after another infront of everyone, i was quietly praying i would like all of them so my smile could be genuine.
thankfully i liked my: quality webcam, tealights & 4 glass candle jars, fruit tea & 2 mugs.
i know they don't sound like much but believe me i was a happy bunny.
esp with the tea, i ONLY like fruit tea.

the night was an eye opener.
to see so many people living their lives without Jesus and only booze and drugs and music to turn to, i beg to understand how they cope.
with my 19 free tics, it's easy to tell most people just came for the free entry.
only the genuine friends showed concern for me and tried to make me feel special.

saturday was spent packing.
and i mean SATURDAY was spent packing.
i did nothing else cept pack from dawn til dusk. (ha cliche)
it proved to be more tiring than i'd imagined.
strangely enough, my room isn't empty, yet the possesions i decided to take with me grew into 5 boxes and a handfull of GAP bags.
know THAT's magic.

with as little sleep as possible, it was time to head down to plymouth.
i thought i'd catch a wink on the 3hour drive there, but no.
everyone was so freakin' excited for me, the noise didn't permit me any rest whatsoever.
so i reached my room only to unpack everything i had spent the previous whole day packing neatly.
was secretly happy my room was bigger than the one showed to me, yet wasn't happy how the decor screamed used-cheap-motel room!
i did get quite excited over my ensuite though.
it's my favouritest room in the world at present.
pictures will explain that sentence soon.
a few last moments with the family and they were off.
and there i stood, in the middle of my room, all alone.
the night was unfortunately spent at some pub with a glass of ice-water in hand, screaming my name and course into people's faces and vice versa.
trust me it was far from enjoyable.

Freshers Week has the reputation of being an absolutely fun filled drunken week.
but not in my uni life.
everyday has basically been, sit through boring talks, getting to know a few people in between, and have a mad dash through town in the evening trying to stock up on food and basic necessities.
university paper work is definitely a nightmare i hope will be completely over very soon.
nights have been spent recovering from the initial packing & mad dashes and attempting to draw my room as far away as possible from my initial impression of it, back to my world of flowers & butterflies.

good things about my room:
1. the butterflies
2. the toilet
3. the smell i added
4. the "walk-in" wardrobe

bad things about my room:
1. the 100 year old carpet
2. the heating (doesn't actually work)
3. the tall ceiling i wanted to hang my butterflies from
4. the heating.

Thurday's trip to the famous Eden Project where part of a James Bond film was shot, was good.
tried taking more pictures that would do the place justice.
the flowers are amazing, the trees have grown a lot more from the last time i was there. (don't 'duh' me!)
again, i will try posting my images soon.

i must thank God here for hearing my prayers for A good housemate.
there's 1 very introverted girl from Cyprus and 2 typical English girls who go out to get drunk, don't wash up after themselves, leave wine bottles & glasses everywhere.
but thankfully there's Emma.
the girl who moved in with me on Sunday.
she's a darling and looks after me.
on my birthday she came to visit at night asking me to tell her what's wrong, or she wouldn't leave.
she could tell i wasn't in the best of moods.
and she's the only person i get along with at home.
God bless her.

good news! i found a chinese supermarket today and got my needs sorted out.
taogua, xiao bai chai, lychee, fishcake, xiu mai, spring rolls, erh garlic.
yummy stuff to keep me from homesickness.

i have yet to fully discover the clubbing scene over ere'
but once i know, i'll get back to you.
i DID find the Jazz Club though.
very pleased about that and wait in anticipation for my first night there.
believe me that will deserve a post.

to be honest, i've had enough of lounging around all summer, and simply wanna get started on my 'dream' course of Architecture.
God help me.

now i'm off to finish watching Pirates of the Caribbean that Em lent me.
(i think i'm falling for Johnny Depp. dammit!)

PS. i love my new fluffy white bath robe.
